Sew pencil skirt with lining. Step 4, how to baste the seam lines and the darts?

(See next step 5, how to interface the back vent extensions?)

(See previous step 3, how to cut out skirt fabric pieces, and how to get the seam and dart lines on your skirt fabric pieces?)

Take both skirt back panels (left and right). Then lay both panels together, fabrics right sides facing in. Then pin both panels together, along the center back seam lines. Please Note: Click on photo to see a larges size.

Then baste center back seam lines together by hand. Then remove pins.

Then take skirt front and skirt back (now, consist of the left and the right panel) pieces again. Then lay both skirt pieces together, fabric right sides facing in. Then pin both skirt pieces together along the side seam lines.

Then baste side seam lines together by hand, then remove pins.

Each skirt piece (front and back) has darts. Each dart has two side lines and a midline. Then fold each dart along the midline, fabric right sides facing in. Then pin each dart together along the side lines.

Then baste side lines together by hand, then remove pins.

Then turn your skirt right side out to see how they look from the outside.
